I Remember Steve as a quiet person. He was on the wrestling team and was in great shape. He was a neighbor of mine. He was two years behind my class so I did not have as much contact with him as I would of liked. I am very Proud of Steve and want to say thank you to Steve for your service to our Country. I am not surprised by his heroism and his devotion to his fellow Marines. Even in High School Steve demonstrated his dedication and commitment in a quiet but firm manner. I am proud to have known Steve.Bud class of 63

Still can't forget the hills we humped, the dirt, the heat, the rain and mud yet through it all, you kept going and kept the rest of us going in your quiet way. Many were the patrols we made together, from Da Nang to Khe Sanh, yet on your last patrol, I wasn't there. It was some of the other wounded that brought me the news. Your battles are done, for some reason, mine go on. Someone once said "a man is never dead as long as he is remembered" . The years have gone by, but seem like yesterday. Just wanted you to know you are not forgotten. Someday, I also shall make that final patrol, climb that last hill and report to the Supreme Commander. Until then, Semper Fi, my friend, my brother

A Great Person and Hero
I just want to say that Steve was a very wonderful person. We were in the same platoon and use to keep ourselves going by joking about the mud, constant rain, and the dangers we face in our daily situations as grunts in Vietman. Even though things were bad, it was very comforting to have him in your presence to cheer you up. Thirty Five years later I am in Lyons, VA Hospital suffering PTSD. We are due to visit the Memorial Wall in Washington D.C. in 3 days Steve is one of the good men that crossed my mind. I was not with him on that day, but I would like to tell Steve how much of a hero he is for what he gave as a sacrifice.

Honors to you "Patriot"
Steve was a student at San Lorenzo High in San Lorenzo, California. I never knew Steve but was aware of him. I went my freshman year at San Lorenzo and would have been in the same graduating class. I moved away to Fremont and later ended up doing two tours in Vietnam myself. I first became aware of Steve's casualty and the act of bravery he performed through the San Lorenzo High School Memorial to Vietnam veterans that had attended San Lorenzo High. I wish to express my heart felt loss for Steve and wish to say that I among many other Vietnam veterans and Americans do hold this Hero in the greatest form of Honor. May you rest in peace as well as your family. The sacrifice you made for us all can never be replaced. You are truly a HERO in the eyes of us all. I feel that you are in God's Army now protecting the gates of Heaven. A SALUTE TO YOU STEVE !
