Katherine Pitcox nspit9430@alpha.nsula.edu Friend of the family 708 Booker Loop Road Mansfield,LA 71052 U.S.A. Tribute to a Hero I am the daughter of Linda Windham Pitcox. Danny Stephens was a close friend of my mother and my uncle. As I have grown up, I have heard many stories about the young man who went off to war. Danny was so young and innocent. May he rest in eternal peace. This country is forever indebted to him and the many brave young men and women like him. Sincerely, Katherine Pitcox Thursday, February 04, 1999 |

ALTHOUGH OLDER THAN I WAS, IN A SMALL SCHOOL AS STANLEY HIGH, LOGANSPORT,LA., YOU DON'T FORGET A PERSON SUCH AS DANNY. TODAY IS SEPT.30, 1999. ITS BEEN 31 YEARS SINCE DANNY'S DEATH BUT I STILL REMEMBER HIS BIG SMILE. THE YEAR 1968 WAS A BANNER YEAR FOR HIS (OUR) HIGH SCHOOL. WE WON THE STATE CHAMPIONSHIP IN BASKETBALL, THE ONLY SPORT WE HAD AT THE TIME, BUT YET IT WAS DANNY'S LAST YEAR ON GOD'S EARTH. I AM SURE DANNY WOULD TIP HIS HAT TO THE OLD SCHOOL. GOD BLESS YOU DANNY. WE LOVE AND MISS YOU. Friday, October 01, 1999 |

He has always been in my thoughts and when I'm in the woods hog hunting, or trapping I think of how much fun we could have if he was still here. I would have liked for my four boys and been able to share the good times with him . I think of you often , you were my cousin, my friend and my pal .Your cousin Charles Ray Metcalf Wednesday, April 07, 2004 |

Linda Windham-Pitcox Blackieshuman@Lycos.Com Friend 708 Booker loop Road Mansfield, LA 71052 U.S.A. Danny and I went to the same small school. He was older than me. He was the same age as my brother. When they told us he was killed in Vietnam, the whole school mourned. Since we are losing so many soldiers in Iraq,I think about the ones we lost in Vietnam. Danny is the only one I knew personally. I went up to Bossier City, LA last year and saw the traveling Vietnam Wall. It is overwhelming to see all the names. I haven't been able to see the wall in Washington, D.C.
