Randy  Zobel Randy.zobel@medtronic.com Squad member in AIT at ft Polk la 321 Kyzer Brown Rd Springfield Sc 29146 A good soldier and friend Rocky and I met in AIT at Ft Polk la. He was my best friend there and we actually enjoyed advanced Infantry training. I also went to Vietnam, served as an infantryman with 2/47th infantry 9th inf div. When I think of the tragedy of the Vietnam war and all the great young men who never got to realize life, Rocky always comes to mind first even amoungt the boys in my squad and platoon who were killed. Rocky epitomized a love for life, and an innocence that makes it hard to believe that he would be one of the ones taken. Rest in peace my old friend, I know you still have that devilish smile on your face!

Helen  Everett h.everett00@gmail.com second cousin Rockyface Ga 30740 with much love from your cousin Rocky... Although I was never a thought until years after you passed I feel as though I have known you my whole life. My daddy, James 'Benny' Everett has kept your memory very much alive by always sharing his very fond memories of you. You have always been a hero to him and your sacrifice made you a hero to the world. I was stationed in Hawaii at Schofield for years before I knew that you were stationed there so many years before. I began to research and pass along your stories, as shared with me,to my son. He, Kobe, became very interested in learning more about you also. You, cousin, are an influence beyond measure in our family. Generation to generation your story is shared. The love and respect continues to grow for you while we all miss you dearly. May 11, 2012 |
