BASIC, TRAINING BUDDY/JULY, 66 - SEP., 66
WE ATTENDED BASIC, TOGETHER, AT FT. POLK, LOUISIANA AND YOU WERE, IN MY PLATOON. WE NEVER KEPT IN TOUCH, AFTER BASIC. YOU WERE 2, MONTHS OLDER, THAN ME. I'AM ALMOST 62, YEARS, OLD AND YOU'D BE, 62, NEXT MONTH. YOU PROBABLY DON'T, HAVE ANY RELATIVES, LIVING, EXCEPT BROTHERS AND SISTERS AND MAYBE A WIFE, BECAUSE YOU DIED, SO YOUNG. I WAS IN NAM TOO, 67-68. I GOT OUT, OF THE ARMY, IN JULY, 1969, SO YOU MUST, HAVE BEEN READY, TO GET OUT, WHEN YOU WERE KILLED. I'M SO SORRY, THAT YOU LEFT US, SO EARLY, AS DID SO MANY OTHERS. WHEN MY TIME, COMES, WE WILL MEET, UP AND HAVE A BEER. I KNOW GOD, HAS A SPECIAL PLACE, FOR YOU. YOUR COMRADE, IN ARMS....GIL

Grateful American
Fellow Californian
American Hero
Another soldier here, all alone and seemingly forgotten, with no coments, to his name. I'am honored and so very proud, to be the first, to give recognition, to this fallen Hero, in this venue. Thank you, SP4, Greer, for your ultimate sacrifice. Rest well, brave soldier and rest assured, that you, Sir, are not forgotten.
