dedicated team leader i am proud to have known him
sgt jones asked me to go on his last patrol with him,he was going home soon after and told me he wanted to have a corpsman on this patrol with him.On the morning of the patrol I was taken to the dispersary by members of the team and was unable to go on that patrol,I had malaria.I think of those marines every day and wonder if i could have made a differance.you will never be forgotten sarge.

I was part of Sgt. Jones platoon but was seriously injured when I was hit by lightning June of 68. I would have been on that patrol where the entire team was killed had I not been injured. Fate kept me alive and sent the team on the helicopter to their deaths. I think about it every day.
