LCPL LAKEY and I were both in Charlie Company, 1st Battalion, 3rd Marines on Operation Union/Beaver Cage in the Que Son Valley on a small hill with Large Rocks. WE were HIT with Mortars, and Charlie Company sustained 3-KIA and 10-WIA, with LCPL Lakey (H&S Company assigned to C/1/3) meeting his fate. Continue to Rest in Peace-Don B C/1/3 67-68. (I am the Web master at www.onethreemarines.com , and we have information there about Our Battalion with some History of Vietnam there. Also, there is a list of the MEN who served in Charlie Company incase you might know or looking for a Marine from C/1/3. Know WE in C/1/3, DO REMEMBER Our Brothers on this WALL! Semper Fidelis and RIP My Brother!)

“You are Remembered”
Peace and condolence to the family and friends. “He which hath no stomach, to this fight, let him depart. But we in it, shall be remembered. We few, we happy few, we band of brothers!! For he today, that sheds his blood with me, shall always be my brother.” Rest in peace brave soldier, you have not been forgotten. (W.Shakespeare) May God Bless you, for your Sacrifice!!!

O God, by whose mercy the faithful departed find rest, look kindly on your departed veterans who gave their lives in the service of their country. Grant that through the passion, death, and resurrection of your Son they may share in the joy of your heavenly kingdom and rejoice in you with your saints forever. We ask this through Christ our Lord.

Long Memory
You had only arrived to the unit a few days before your death. I didn't get to know you very well. When the shells began falling and someone yelled to get on the guns, you responded. And in doing so lost your life. This is the first public place I've posted this fact. I put it in my short story, but few have read it. It was just the 2 of us. Your action and death are a part of memory and will always be so.

ANONYMOUS AND GRATEFUL
HOW, CAN IT BE, THAT, SOMEONE SO YOUNG, CAN, GIVE THEIR LIFE, FOR OUR COUNTRY AND SO FEW, ACKNOWLEDGE YOUR SACRIFICE. SOME, OF US CARE. THANK YOU, SEEMS SO INADEQUATE, BUT IT'S, ALL I HAVE.
