I am the youngest son of Lewis McDermott. I was 10 years old when Dad was killed. I will never forget a month before on my birthday he had made a Western Union phone call wishing me Happy Birthday. This year marks 40 years since his death and the last time I saw him. I have never forgotten the sound of his voice nor his face. I have always been thankful for that and who he was.

Lewis Mc Dermott was killed at the same time my brother David Dickinson was killed. Think of him often and wonder how his family is doing. Time and faith help heal us all, but one never forgets. I know you are loved and missed, as my brother is. Rest well my friend. You are on my mind this and every Memorial Day.
