My brother rolled a wounded soldier off of a live grenade, and threw it away. If anyone knew Dave could you try to contact me, if you want. He was killed in another attack unrelated to this one. I am proud of him and all others who served in Vietnam.

Even though I served with the 9th Infantry Division with Company E of the 2nd/39th Infantry in Vietnam, SGT Shaeffer was there part of the time I was there also. I am not sure if I personally knew him, but if not I sure wish I did. He is a real and true American Hero. May God continue to bless his family and friends. May his remembrance live on forever.
