Donald was part of our wedding party in July 1968 in Long Beach, Calif. My husband, Tim Labadie, was a fellow Marine with Spatafore's (he never called him Don) on board the USS Kearsarge, where they were sea-going Marines. He was one of the funniest people we had ever met, and hearing of his death affected my husband for the rest of his life, along with several other vets he knew that did not make it back from Nam. My husband has since passed away (Nov. 2009) but the time he had spent with him on board the ship, and their over seas adventures always stayed with him in fond memories. Semper Fi, Spatafore.

“You are Remembered”
Peace and condolence, to the family and friends. "He which hath no stomach to this fight let him depart. But we in it shall be remembered. We few, we happy few, we band of brothers!! For he today, that sheds his blood with me, shall always be my brother”. Rest in peace brave soldier, you have not been forgotten. (W.Shakespeare) May God Bless You for your Sacrifice!!!

A Fellow Veteran
If you are able, save them a place inside of you and save one backward glance when you are leaving for the places they can no longer go. Be not ashamed to say you loved them, though you may or may not have always. Take what they have left and what they have taught you with their dying and keep it with your own. And in that time when men decide and feel safe to call war insane, take one moment to embrace those gentle heroes you left behind.( "Major Michael Davis O'Donnell 1 January 1970 Dak To, Vietnam.") America has been built on the blood of Heros and Brave Men of Honor who answered the call. A fellow veteran wants to thank this hero for his service, and my cherised freedoms. May you rest well in Gods loving embrace brave hero, and may God bring comfort to your loved ones for their sacrifice. You shall never be forgotten by a grateful nation."

Remembering A Friend
I served with Donald Spatafore as a sea going Marine on the aircraft carrier USS Kearsarge CVS33. It has been over 30 years and I can still see his smiling face. He was a lot of fun to be with and ever one liked Spatafore. I went to Nam before Donald and I found out he died after I got back. They brought the Wall to Monterey, Calif and I went to see it. I cried and remembered that day. I still have a couple of pictures of Donald to this day I still remember him. See ya soon buddy.
