His clothes are not in camouflage, no helmet's there to see He wasn't trained in combat boots to kill the enemy His heart is not protected by the medals that he's earned No shiny bars or stripes are worn to prove what he has learned When passing his superiors, saluting's not required He didn't take a Sacred Oath the day that he was hired He doesn't fight on foreign soil where Wars have taken place He never uses weapons that destroy our human race Yet he still fights a "Silent War" that many never see It's not like other Wars because there's just one enemy It's taking place right here at home within the USA A War that just continues on and never goes away This man defends the Soldiers who have kept this Country free They've lost their health and so much more but not their dignity He takes a stand for every right the Soldier's been denied The enemy he has to face are those who simply lied The people they were told to trust, now cause the agony A Government that will not take responsibility So now they have no more to give and that's when he steps in The Soldier living in his heart will rise up once again How brave he is to fight a cause, so many just ignore Yes, he's the bravest Soldier that I've never met before Each person that he represents is glad he's on their side But if they lose, at least they know how hard he really tried He doesn't do it for the fame, as Politicians do This Soldier in a three-piece suit does all of it for you He'll fight for Truth and Justice like no Soldier has before He may not win each battle but he'll win "The Silent War" © By: Freda H.
