THANKS DAD

Michelle Renee Bier

For my dad, John L. Williams...

Thanks Dad

I can't feel your eternal pain,
But I know of your courage.
All of those names on the Wall,
They mean so much to you.

If I could see through your eyes,
Maybe I'd understand it all.
Then I'd know your pain,
That you keep hidden so well.

I wish I could bring them back,
So you won't have to cry.
But Fate gave you those memories,
To lock away in your heart.

Only you hold the key.
In each and every veteran,
The forgotten are remembered.
And for our country--"Thanks Dad".
