No Mission To Difficult

That's Johnny without his shirt and Winningham ... I served with him in Vietnam in 1969. Our unit was the 1st Infantry Division 1/2 (Big Red One). On March 9th 1969 he gave his life and I was wounded in the same firefight. Johnny was a good soldier and helped me learn the ways of the jungle ... He was proud to serve his country and will always be in my thoughts.

Talked to John's neice, Nancy
To the neice of John Grissom: Nancy, It was so very nice chatting with you today. I'm glad I was able to fill you in on some of the questions of John's passing. As I told you, I didn't know him well but will always remember him as a true hero who came to the challenge when he was called. May He forever Rest In Peace!....Respectfully, Joel Cooper Company 'D' 1/2 November Platoon

I remember Our dead brothers still live for us and bid us think of life, not death-of life to which in their youth they lent the passion and joy of the spring. As I listen, the great chorus of life and joy begins again and amid the awful orchestra of seen and unseen powers and destinies of good and evil our trumpets sound once more a note of daring, hope and will. I see them now as once I saw them on this earth. They are the same bright figures that come also before your eyes and when I speak of those who were my brothers, the same words describe yours. Fallen but surely not forgotten
I believe I have met every Grissom in Arkansas since my friendship began with his Nephew Tony way back in 1974. I never had the honor of meeting Johnny Paul on this earth but he must one heck of a guy! One day I will have the honor of meeting Johnny and I will finally get to personally thank him for giving his life for something he and everyone else on this wall believed in and gave their lives for.. FREEDOM....God Bless You All, Chuck Matthews

Peace and condolence, to the family and friends. "He which hath no stomach to this fight let him depart. But we in it shall be remembered. We few, we happy few, we band of brothers!! For he today, that sheds his blood with me, shall always be my brother.” Rest in peace brave soldier, you have not been forgotten. (W.Shakespeare) May God Bless You for your Sacrifice!!!
