Joesph Garofalo jgarofal@nortelnetworks.com Attended school, with Don in Livingston, NJ., Livingston, High School 88, Plymouth Ave., Maplewood, NJ., 07040,Essex "Donny" Allaway, Livingston, NJ. I remember Don, as a tall thin teenager in Livigston, where the family lived, before moving, to Matawan. He was educated, at the local Catholic school, before joining the class, of '63, at LHS.. The family moved, before graduation. The report of his death in Vietnam, was the first for Livingston, people and I must admit, that it opened my eyes to the sacrifice, these young men were making, for this country and the people, of Vietnam. I was inspired to enlist, after I graduated from college, in 1968, partly, because of the sense of duty, that I saw, in Don and others, like him. I was an Infantryman with the 101st, AB. and was fortunate, to survive my tour, in 1970. I hope, that Don's family has been consoled by the fact, that he was, indeed a martyr and now, lives forever.
