IN MEMORY OF SP5 ROBERT BENJAMIN PINKERTON
. . Contributed By Robert Hernandez On Tuesday, June 12, 2001
I flew with Robert Pinkerton the last three or four weeks prior to his death on November 4, 1965. I want to let his wife, child and parents know that he was a good friend and he loved them very much. I know that he died prior to the birth of his child, but he was very proud and happy that he was going to be a father. He loved his wife and looked forward to R&R in Hawaii, to be with them. Even though we knew each other for a short while, as was the case with most of our friends in VietNam, I admired his knowledge and dedication to his job as crew chief and soldier. I think about him and his family often. Always wondering about his wife and child, who would be about thirty five years old by now. I have grown children of my own and I'm blessed to have seen them grow up as responsible adults, but I still feel that pain when I think about Robert's family. Please know that he loved you very much and he will not be forgotten. GOD BLESS ALL THE MEN AND WOMEN THAT GAVE THEIR LIVES IN THE CALL OF DUTY.
