I AM DOING THIS FOR MY FATHER, HIS NAME IS BILLY F. WADE FROM SOPERTON, GA., HE SERVED IN THE MARINES IN 1966 2/4 H CO., HE MADE SGT. AND WAS AWARDED THE SILVER STAR FOR HIS ACTIONS IN VIETNAM 1966, HE TOLD THAT HE WAS WOUNDED IN THIS OPERATION CALLED "OPERATION J",HE LOST SEVERAL FRIENDS THAT DAY, ON HIS CITATION THE DATE OF CONLICT WAS JUNE 24,1966, HIS SQUAD WAS SENT TO RESCUE MARINES FROM A DOWNED HELICOPTER THAT WERE PINNED DOWN BY VC IN OR AROUND PHU BI, IF ANYONE KNOWS ANYTHING ABOUT THIS PLEASE CONTACT US, WE WOULD LIKE TO FIND SOME OF THE SURVIVORS, OUR PH.# IS 912-529-6759 OR 912-293-5913.THANK YOU VERY MUCH

Looking for anyone that served with my brother in VietNam. His time in country was short - 12/17/68 to 1/24/69 when he was killed in Tay Ninh, South Vietnam. I would really like to get information on what happened that day.

I was the fiancT of Joe B Ojeda who was also known as Manuel. We got engaged in Hawaii He was with the CRIP as part of HHC, 1st Battalion, (Mech), 2nd Brigade, 5th Infantry (Bobcats), 25th Infantry Division (Tropical Lightning) located at Cu Chi and was KIA in BINH DUONG, SOUTH VIETNAM on Dec 9, 1969. He was killed by a booby trap. He was the only one that died in the incident and I would like to hear from anyone who served with Joe, especially Doc who was with him on 12/9/69. Please email me.

Searching for Blake McIlwaine - a distant relative. Blake was an airforce pilot. His wife was Sandra or Sandy. Blake last visited relatives in N.Ireland about 10 years ago. Any info on Blake or his family would be greatly appreciated. His cousin Leslie in Londonderry would like to contact him again. Blake was from Alabama

My Boots

I served two tours in The Physically Beautiful Country of Vietnam-1967-68/ 1970-71. I was a young 18yr old USMC Sergant during my first tourand a very old 20yr old SSgt on my 2nd. I was a squadleader at Khe San in 1968 with the bravest young men who ever lived we served with 1-1-5. Only tof my origional squad survived and many of their replacements also died holding that DAMED HILL. Me, I was wounded twice was awarded The Silver and Bronze Stars but I lost my sole. I brought home the boots I wore. The are full of holes and he soles are smooth. I saw a poster one day at a VA hospital in Agusta that had a picture of Jungle Boots, they looked like mine. Beneth the Boots the slogan read "These Boots Made it Home, Did You? On my 2nd tour I was a very angry man but a DAMNED good Marine who wanted to be there. I served as a Sniper. My spotter a CPL. Was in Hue in the 68 Tet. We had 46 confirmed kills, my spotter didn't make it home. He was killed when we were getting on the Huey at out pick up spot. He was an American Indian a Cherokee, his name was Ken Hines. It upset him when other Marines called hin Chief ect. But on our first mission ht ask me to call him Tonto. I loved these men and all others who served. I am 100% disabled 50 from PTSD and the damage to my body makes my disability go to 150% I return to Nam every day of my life. I am getting old now and tired, I guess I'll be renuited with by BROTHERS soo. God please protect our young women and men who are fighting in the Middle eastern counties!

My husband and I were in Washington to see the wall 2 years ago and it was closed for renovation. He is a vietnam vet and was really disappointed. Is it open now? We are coming back out in November,

Serving with a small unit B troop 7/17 cav. infantry plt. having only about 18 men at any given time, my search is for a Capt. Murphy,,serving as plt.ldr. our small infantry recon unit was dropped into a hot LZ, we lost 1 kia Petsos,,about 8 members wia, only 3 of us came bk. with a couple that followed after medical hospital at Camp Holloway,Pleiku,. I am looking for Capt Murphy as the rest of our Blues Plt. would like too get in touch. My name is Tibby,, pointman ,,date of action July 14,1969. Thank you for any help with this search.
