We did a project in Social Studies class and I chose this man because he has my first name. I am sure he was a good soldier.

I attended college with Gerry at the University of MO - St. Louis after he was injured. We had several classes together and I would assist him to his next class and talk. We were members of the Veterans Assoc on campus, a bunch of loose and crazy guys and Gerry fit in real well. Although he was critically injured, (for those reading and didn't know Gerry he didn't have use of his lower body), he was never bitter about the war or his suffering. He wanted to become an attorney, at least at one time, and I hope he achieved that dream. He is remembered always by his college buddies - yes after 35 years there are still some of his Veterans Assoc buds who still get together and toast our fallen friends. Rest in Peace Gerry, one day we will be watching football together again.

Jerry, I'm very sorry, I never made it back, to St. Louis, to tell you, what, a good friend you were, during, our younger years. I'm proud, to have enjoyed, that friendship. Looking forward, to seeing you again, one day. "Semper Fi, Marine!" (Sergeant/USMC/RVN 1969-1970)

My Friend
I was one, of the lucky people, to have Gerry, as a friend. I remember the evening, that he, came by to tell me, that, he was shipping out. When I heard, of his injuries, I could not, bear, to visit him. I let, my friend down, in his time of need.
