PFC Austin, you laid your life down for your companion, not once but twice, sacrificing your life for the chance that one friend may live. That sort of courage and dedication is irreplaceable in this world and greatly honored, admired, and appreciated by citizens like me. Rest in peace.

Although Oscar Palmer Austin is gone he will always be remembered by his family, friends, fellow soldiers, me and many more. Not only was Oscar a great hero for our country but he won the Medal of Honor during the years he served for our country. He never gave up and that is why he won such an honored award. I admire Oscar Austin a lot. He fought for our freedoms for the world and nobody should forget that.

Being in vietnam, at that time, was painful enough, but doing what this man, did, was more, than courageous. I'm sure his family, is proud, of him, even today. I know, I'am proud, of him. Thank you.
