Shelly  Hartogh Trout man sweetsunnyday@embarqmail.com baby sister Charlottesville VA 22968 Remembering a my brother To my brother 'Davey'. I grew up with a memory of a brother who died too young. A brother who faught in a war I didn't know much about or understand, but what six year old would understand. I cannot help but wonder how much fuller my life would be if you were still in it. I wonder if you would be proud to know that that you have eight nieces and nephews, and two of your nephews bear your name Denny's son- Chad David and my oldest son, David. I wonder if you know that the legacy of your love, honor and sacrifce lives on. But mostly I just wonder why......
I hope you have been reunited with Mom and Dad in Heaven, and I pray you will all be there waiting to greet me when the Lord calls me home. Aug 26, 2010 |

James   Hargrave jhargrave@cox.net jhargrave@cox.net 13418 W. Port au Prince Ln Surprise Arizona 85379 USA Childhood friend. Dave and I were friends at I.C. School in Charles City, Iowa until he moved to Waterloo, Iowa after seventh grade. We stayed in touch after his move and he was able to come see me and several other of his classmates while on leave prior to going to Veit Nam. Dave was always upbeat and fun to be around. I remember the day that I found out that he had been killed in action and it was like I had lost a brother. He was on my mind and in my heart continuously while I served my tour in Veit Nam. This weekend the mobile Wall is going to be in my area and I plan on making a visit to honor my long departed friend. To the friends and family of all the heros on The Wall please remember the joy and happiness they brought into our lives and never miss a chance to share a story of those loved ones. Nov 2, 2007 |

peter stivers stivers@prodigy.net just a good friend 749 west Liberty St. Rome, N.Y. 13440 USA To just a great and nice marine Dave was in 3rd platoon and wewould see each other once in awhile when his buddies would stop over and visit the grunts of 1st platoon. BEING an ex-wrestler in high school , Dave told me he was a pretty good wrestler being from Waterloo/ Iowa. So we had a lot of wrestling stories and notes to compare. I and everyone else were deeply sadden by Daves death . If there was ever one great guy and hero it will always be you 'Dave . That was one of the worst of times in Nam ,we truely lost a special person. Wednesday, March 29, 2000 |
