MARTIN ROBERT BECK

Family friend
Col. Beck was someone you never forget. I played football and baseball with his sons in Bad Tolz 1964-67. He was always at the games, encouraging us to 'Go forth and Excel !!!' He was refined, warm, a masterful leader and an incredible father. We kids were crazy about him. His two sons and daughter were just the way you hope your kids will turn out. I miss him. Peace and condolence, to the family and friends. “He which hath no stomach, to this fight, let him depart. But we in it, shall be remembered. We few, we happy few, we band of brothers!! For he today, that sheds his blood with me, shall always be my brother.” Rest in peace brave soldier, you have not been forgotten. (W.Shakespeare) May God Bless you, for your Sacrifice!!!

Marty, I only had the opportunity, to work with you for six, short months, as your C, Co., 10th, SFGA., Operations Officer, before you left, for Vietnam; the next chance I had to walk beside you, was at Arlington, as your pallbearer. There was not an Officer, or NCO., in 10th, Group, that did not deeply feel your loss, you truly were an admired leader, who set an exceptional moral, ethical and leadership standard, for all, to emulate. What I wouldn’t do to stand beside you, on any DZ., just one, more time. Thanks, for being a great mentor. Mac McKenzie

A GRATEFUL AMERICAN
Rhode Island, USA

BIRTHDAY REMEMBRANCE - NOT FORGOTTEN
LTC., BECK, U.S., ARMY – You are an American hero, whose ultimate sacrifice, will, not be forgotten. Rest well, brave soldier. Thank you, for your sacrifice and honorable service, to this great nation. So young a life, so great a sacrifice. "SOLDIER," By George L. Skypeck, RegTM, All Rights Reserved. (No reproduction, without prior permission, By Mr. Skypeck)~ I was, that which others, did not want to be. I went, where others feared, to go and did, what others failed, to do. I asked nothing, from those, who gave nothing and reluctantly accepted, the thought, of eternal loneliness, should I fail. I have seen the face, of terror, felt, the stinging cold, of fear and enjoyed, the sweet taste, of a moments love. I have cried, pained and hoped, but most, of all, I have lived times, others would say, were best forgotten, at least someday, I will be able, to say, that I was proud, of what I was, A SOLDIER.
