ROBERT LOGAN WICKLIFFE

JOHN  ODONNELL
MARINE VET
TO HONOR ONE OF THE BRAVEST CORPSMAN
Well the name DOC is something to behold. Not everyone can be a DOC It takes a man with special courage and conviction to be a NAVY CORPSMAN (DOC). These men go into battle with not weapons but with medical kits. and then when the battle is at it's fiercest than the call comes DOC UP. He goes, and while bullets and bombs going off the CORPSMAN gives aid to his fallen charges. These MEN are real HERO'S and we should remember their deeds daily. SEMPER FI DOC and THANK YOU. You are not forgotten

'Empty Chairs at Empty Tables' from Les Miserables
Oh my friends , my friends forgive me that I live and you are gone. There's a grief that can't be spoken there's a pain goes on and on Phantom faces at the window. Phantom shadows on the floor. Empty chairs at empty tables where my friends will meet no more. Oh my friends, my friends, don't ask me what your sacrifice was for. Empty chairs at empty tables where my friends will sing no more...

Remembrance
Just now going through some past photos I came across the photo of Robert and Me taking our oath of enlistment at Naval Reserve Center, Natchez, Ms. After that our paths went in opposite directions of military service. His path to ultimately cost him his life in service to our country. I think often of Robert who that night became my friend.
