patrick  mauer drpmauer@sbcglobal.net friend, fellow intern 464 p ca 91105 usa Rich was one of my fellow interns at Boston City Hospital - on a different service but partners in service and learning. Of my group 11 of 18 were drafted. I ended up on the Papago (as it was known then) reservation in Arizona for 2 years - Rich ended up in Viet Nam - he was a dedicated peace loving man who was devoted to his patients and his country. We can not fail if we are served by men like Rich.

Justin Parks jdparks1@aol.com We lived, in the same hootch Rich and I, lived and worked together, until he was killed, in a chinnook crash, while landing, at a firebase. He was both, a fine doctor and a fine person and deserved, to live, a much longer life. If anyone, has any questions, about Rich, please feel free, to email me. Mar 29, 2008 |

Oh, I have slipped the surly bonds of earth and danced the skies on laughter-silvered wings, Sunward I've climbed, and joined the tumbling mirth of sun-split clouds and done a hundred things. You have not dreamed of wheeled and soared and swung, high in the sunlit silence, hov'ring there, I've chased the shouting wind along, and flung my eager craft through footless halls of air. Up, up the long delirious, burning blue I've topped the windswept heights with easy grace, where never lark, or even eagle flew, and, while with silent, lifting mind I've trod the high untrespassed sanctity of space, put out my hand and touched the face of God.
