Sonya Neely, Butler eyecare4all@aol.com parents were my god parents 9511 Harrison Bay Road Harrison , RN 37341 USA The hero I never Knew Rocky, I never got to know you. I can remember as I was growing up how your mom would take me to the room she had set up just for your things. She missed you terribly. When your dad passed away, her lonliness grew. She has always been a very strong person, and now that she too has gone home to meet her maker, you all are together again. The one thing she has longed for. The day that I meet my maker, I will finally get to meet the hero I never knew. Tuesday, April 27, 2000 |

Becky Stewart-Brown kbbrown@nwa.quik.com neighbor 1203, North, 35th, Street, Rogers, AR., 72756, USA Rocky was my neighbor and I thought he was a great guy. He was always so sweet to me and I remember the day they came and told his parents he had been killed. I was much younger than him, but remember how I cried and wondered about war. He was good looking and all the girls thought he was special! He was his parents only child and the loss was especially devastating to Mr. and Mrs. Everett. Tuesday, June 15, 1999 |

Steve Wallace swallace1@bellsouth.net friend po box 843 columbus, ms 39703 us Rocky, It is April 11, and I have to be in court tomorrow and may not be able to talk with you. It seems like yesterday that we were boys in Columbus.I hope you are doing well and I sure miss you and I wish you could see my kids. Rocky, there are a lot of things I wish for you but mostly I wish that you and I were playing baseball again at Propst Park. There are very few days that go by that I don't think about you and wish that you had been allowed to do the things that I take for granted. I have tried to keep your memory alive with my children. I will never forget you. I never saw anyone who could hit a ball any harder than you. Have a good rest and God Bless You! Your friend always , Steve Monday, April 11, 2005 |

Terry Biehunko tbiehunko@charter.net friend, little league teammate 1405 Bent Creek Drive Southlake, texas 76092 Jr. high friend and little league teammate Rocky and I went to school together in Columbus, Ms. and played baseball together on the Columbus AFB little league team. I still have a picture of our team called the Tigers. Our fathers were in the Air Force stationed at the AFB in Columbus. I remember Rocky getting in a fight protecting me from a bully that had been picking on me while we were riding the bus home from school. The bully was tough but Rocky kicked his butt. That was a good day. Rocky could also hit the baseball a country mile and was one of the better players on our team. He was just an all around good guy who seriously cared for his fellow man. My father retired from the Air Force and we moved back to Texas in 1962. I never saw Rocky again. I was also in Viet Nam at the same time as Rocky and received a letter from my mother telling me he had been KIA. Neither of us knew the other was in Viet Nam at the same time. I remember feeling that a part of my childhood was taken away from me when I heard the news of his death. I am truly sorry he did not come home but I am PROUD to have been his friend even if it was only for a short time. Thursday, June 03, 2004 |
