Lorraine Chickering lchick@verizon.net cousin 7902, Old Cedar Ct., McLean, VA., 22102, USA As I prepare to touch, the place where you died, Thirty eight, years. my God, 38, years. 1968, the year I graduated, from high school, was a bad year. You, Martin and Bobby. It shaped my life, in ways, I never imagined and yes, I was one of those, who fought hard against the war, that took you from us. On April 22nd, (2006) I will fly from Hanoi, to Da Nang. On April 23rd, we will drive to Hue. On the way, I will pass the unknown killing field "Thon La Chu," that took you, from us. My tears, will not be understood, by my companions. But I will know that finally, finally I have actually touched, your soul again. With me, I'll have your Dad, Aunt Tessie, Uncle Greg, Uncle Tony and Uncle Dick. In reality, you have all of them, already. I do, so hope, they have brought you, comfort and love. From those, of us still here, I will bring more. With all, the love we didn't get, to share. Lorraine Saturday, April 08, 2006 |
