Cage, you are still with me after all these years
My dear Cage, after 27 years I have found you. I was Cage's pen pal when I was a freshman in high school in Phoenix in 1968-69. Our English teacher set it up so that each of us would have someone to write to in Vietnam in those troubling times. Cage was assigned to me and I wrote to him. he wrote back soon and was so happy to hear from me and sweet - he requested a photo of myself which I sent and he nearly proposed to me after that - and then suddenly the letters stopped coming. My teacher and I tried to find Cage or determine if he was okay, but we never could find out ANYTHING. and then today, after all these YEARS, May 12, 2006, a friend helped me locate you on the Wall. and my suspicions were confirmed.and after all these years (I am now 52 years old). I wept when I learned the truth about what I'd suspected all these years. My dear Cage, I am SO sorry you left us so soon and before we could meet - You are and will always be my hero. It seems like yesterday when we corresponded and I remember the photo you sent of your bright, sweet smile. Life is better because you were here. My heart goes out to your family and friends. You are not forgotten. Heaven is better because you are there.
