Jackie Taylor ~Grateful American~ You, Sir, Have Not Been Forgotten! http://www.geocities.com/rememberance004
I had the opportunity to visit The Vietnam Memorial Wall in Washington DC. As I searched and, found the names of my friends, classmates, neighbors etched into the smooth, black face of the Wall, an extraordinary outpouring of emotion became so strong. I was so overwhelmed with sorrow and pain that I could not hold back the tears for those heroes and their families who lost so much. Though my visit to the Wall was a few years ago, I feel that I left a piece of my heart there. To honor those who died in the Vietnam War and to say thank youàI created a small tribute to those heroes. Please click on the link above to view memorial website. Sunday, August 01, 2004 |

Leah Brown leahb56@excite.com Have had MIA braclet for 20+ years 539 S. Congress Ave. Evansville, IN 47714 USA My guardian angel I've had Raymond's MIA bracelet for 20 plus years. It's been everywhere with my - even when I was married I wore the bracelet. Having worn the bracelet for so long, I've always felt that I had a "guardian angel" watching over me. Unfortunately, the aluminum broke in to about a week ago. I'm ordering another bracelet honoring Raymond's memory and will continue to wear it as a symbol of his courage. Thursday, March 20, 2003 |

Paul Payne ptpayne@tva.gov former USNUSWSS Class 7201 Hixson, Tn 37343 USA I was running each name of my former classmates of the US Navy Underwater Swimmer's School (Class 7201) which graduated in Sept.,1971 against the names on 'the Wall'. There were only twenty of us who graduated. There were seven Navy, four Marines, and nine Air Force Paramedics. That school is now part of what's called I believe the JFK Special Warfare School. The SEALS who had just returned from 'Nam were our insructor's. Seems that the war touched places you never thought it would. So young they were. He was just a year older than I was. he was lost only six months after leaving school. The Air force Paramedics were a really great bunch of guys. So were the Marines. In that class there were no identities, no rank. You were just 'swim buddies. I feel for his family. I hope they see this and know that after so many years that there are still others who served with him that will not forget his service to his country and the sacrifice he and all those on the Wall made for each of us. I would guess that Raymond was doing what he really wanted to do when he died, or he wouldn't have been there. The Paramedics were definitely dedicated airmen! They went in harm's way and saved many lives with little concern for their own safety in doing so. I'm sure all his brothers he served with will be proud to say they served with Raymond. Although I served only a few weeks with him, I know I am. Paul Payne USN (Sn/Dv) December 5, 2002 Thursday, December 05, 2002 |
