Mike Trevathan mtrevat1@wt.net High School Buddy, fellow Veteran 403, Enchanted River Dr., Spring, TX., 77388, USA I went to high school, with Gary and we graduated, in June 1968. This was, a fine young man and I'am proud, to have known him. He was friendly, compassionate and solid, as a rock. He died in an unpopular war, serving his country, when many man of less stature, turned their backs on the call, to defend freedom. Wednesday, April 21, 1999 |

Michael RODRIGUEZ kcgyrene@kc.rr.com Best Friend Gary Carter and I met in bootcamp at MCRD San Diego where we became best friends in our recruit platoon. We remained together throughout bootcamp, infantry training at ITR, BITS, and Staging Battalion at Camp Pendleton when we left for Vietnam in May 1968. We stayed together in Vietnam and joined Bravo Co. 1/3, 3d. Mar. Div. We were shortimers that day on May 25, 1969 by the DMZ when the Company was heavily mortared by the NVA and we parted to take care of our men. It was the last time we saw and talked as we both said, " Take care of yourself." We were together 1 & 1/2 yrs. when Gary died. A part of me died also on that day. Gary is ALIVE in my heart and mind to this day. Semper Fi ! February 25, 2006 Saturday, February 25, 2006 |
