ROBERT SCOTT BYRNES

Mike  Jones
lived down the street from Bob
The Moving Wall
A TRUE HERO I knew two fallen soldiers of this war.....Bob was one of them . I paused for some time at his name and his smile . I thought, too, of all the people I've known that went to Vietnam (myself being one of them) and 'only' two that didn't make it home. It brings a new appreciation for life - just to think of those whose lives were cut so short. I think of the agony for Bob's mother, father and brother it hurts me yet today. I remember 1968 and the news my parents called of Bob's death - - the fear that grips any young boy whose eligable for the draft. Not a pleasant time with the 'armchair war'. We all recover, but never completely.
