I talked to you, as if you were there.
It really is, to emotional, to bear.
I miss you and all, the good times, we knew.
I'm sorry, that they could not, continue.
So, I said, my silent prayer.
That only you could hear.
I'll hold, all my memories so dear.
Eventually, I start, to shed a tear.

Visit to the wall
Leon: I went to the wall today, I could hear you calling me, I found you right away, I said a silent prayer that only you could hear. In my mind, I wondered, why? Why did you have to die? I touched, your name and I could hear, you, telling me, not to question why. I can still, hear your voice, in my heart, You're telling me, that there is, no time, nor place, that can ever break us apart. I'm sorry, that I, could not stay, But I promise, that I will be back, to see you again, on another day.

40th, Anniversary
I turned around, We had just, graduated, high school. I turned around, You were my friend to see. I turned around and you were called, to fight. I turned around and you were gone. It will, be 40, years ago, 7/2/67, that you, were call away. It was time, for you, to go. It was time, for me, to stay. I hope that, when I'am called away, you will, be the one, I see. I hope that, when you turn around, you will, recognize me.

Although, I never knew you, out of respect, for your special day, I have come, to your memorial, page and have read, the tributes written, by those whose lives, you did touch. It is with deep respect, that I make this entry, on your memorial page. I want to 'Thank you,' for your dedication and bravery and for unselfishly giving, the ultimate sacrifice, for your Country. I'm sorry, you didn't get to watch, your daughter grow up, but I'm sure, she thinks, of you and was proud, to have had you, as her Dad. Leon, In a few days, July 2nd, will be here and you will not. This was the date, in 1967, that God decided, to call you, home, to a better place, a place of peace. I think, of you, often and with good memories. When I think, of you, it is always with RESPECT, because you paid, the ultimate price. God Bless.

In going, thru the names, on the wall, I recognized Leon's. We were schoolmates, at East Side, High School, in Newark, New Jersey and we both graduated, in 1964. I remember Leon, because of his laugh, he was a good person, with a good heart. His nickname in school, was Ding Dong and he wanted, to become, a Pro Basketball Player. I miss those days, but in the 60's, this country, was in a turmoil. That was, a life time, ago. I do know, that on that fateful day, when Leon was, taken from us, he went straight to heaven, because he had spent his time, in Hell.
