I knew Karl in 1965 while stationed with G 2/3 at Da Nang. I was the seniopr company corpsman at that time I would like to hear from anyone else who was there at that time.

I knew you when you were a young squad leader with A-1-6, 2d MarDiv and I was an even younger BAR man fresh out of boot camp. You made a lasting impression on me then, so it was no surprise to me when I found out you had been awarded the MOH and the reason for it. Rest in peace now my friend .

During my visit to The Vietnam Memorial Wall in Washington DC I searched and, found the names of my friends, classmates, neighbors etched into the smooth, black face of the Wall, an extraordinary outpouring of emotion became so strong. I was so overwhelmed with sorrow and pain that I could not hold back the tears for those heroes and their families who lost so much. Though my visit to the Wall was a few years ago, I feel that I left a piece of my heart there.
