The information, is wrong. giving him, credit for 1, year, of service. Father Capodonno, had been a missionary, in the Far East, before he was a Marine. he came, to the 1st, Marine Division, in early 1966. When he spoke, softly and quietly, his voice and appearance, were almost Christ like. He briefed, the officers at Division headquarters, but his place, was with his men. His story, should be a motion picture, an inspiration to all, who would know faith, courage and sacrifice. I "watched," his medal, of honor news, come in at the television station and I cried.

Don't Puke Here
I served with Father Capodanno, at D-med in Chu Lai, in 66 and 67. He was, a fine man. When the guys got tanked, at the enlisted, club and headed, for mid-rats, they started over utilizing, his piss-tube. He put up a sign, that said, "Please don't puke here." Although, he was calm and considerate, when conducting services, or working E&A, he had a temper, too. He hated, spam and when, it was served to often, he could cuss, with the best. He and his pard., Chaplain, Krulak, were real supportive of us, corpsman, as we tried to deal, with our work. I helped to construct, his memorial chapel, at 1st, Med., Bttn., in Danang and attended, the 1st, service. RIP..
