Courtesy visit - Veterans Day 2009
Sgt Dickinson, your sister took the time to leave messages for two of my friends KIA one was September 66 and the other June 67, both of whom I was with when they died. The June firefight was my final action in Nam, The next year was spent in Hospitals for treatment of my injuries. You and I never met. I, however, was touched by the fact that your sister took time to visit sites of strangers and post messages for them. I subsequently visited your site out of respect and must state that how fortunate you must have been and what an exceptional individual you must have been to have earned/inspire such DEVOTION, CARING, LOVE and emotional out pouring of FEELINGS from you sister, through the decades. I truly regret that I did not have the honor of meeting you in Nam. I salute you and extend the salute of the last two units I was assigned to,the 196 Light Infantry Brigade and the 25th Infantry Division. Sleep in Peace, Sgt Dickinson, take your rest, It is abundantly clear your family LOVED you, but the Lord Loved you best.

Sister to David's Sister
This is for David's sister, Garnet. Thank you for leaving such a kind remembrance for my brother Billy. It's a special bond we have, to have both lost a treasured brother. I have thought of David and Billy, and all those gracious and courageous young men we lost so many years ago today, Memorial Day. I moved from Colorado to West Virginia a couple of years ago, and although I frequently visit The Wall, I could not bring myself to attend the ceremonies there today. My heart was too heavy. I know you miss David as much as I miss Billy. He was a good looking young man and shall always remain so. There was something very special about serving in the 1st Calavary Division. I'm sure David wore his CAV patch with great honor, as did Billy. The next time I go to The Wall, I'll be sure to find David there, touch his name, and bring your love to him.

Your Sister
Sgt., Dickinson: I usually visit only sites, of Marines, or my several friends, from other branches, of the services, who also sacrificed all, for their County and corps, whichever it was. While visiting the sites, of Marines who died, forty, years ago, today and earlier this week, (Dec., 24-27, 1968) I noted your sister, left comments of remembrance, for some of them. I appreciate that. I also appreciate, that your sister and friends, still take time to visit, your site and the sites, of our forgotten heroes. You apparently, are loved and still missed, by your family. You remain ever young, in their hearts. Semper Fi . . . it applies to all, of us.

Remembrance
David, my day usually begins, like the previous one. I move among, the websites of my heroes, to remember and honor them. I seldom print it. it's usually, like a silent prayer, but on this date, years ago, still a young man, you made, the Supreme Sacrifice. You and my brother, now share a collage at his website. As I honor one, I honor the other. You share, the traits which have made our nation, a sense of duty to God, family, and country and strong courage and dedication. He too, was self motivated and a hard task master. Had the two, of you met in life, you would have, become 'Brothers Always.' Thank you, for using those traits and talents, to protect our nation. May God bless, our nation and continue, to protect it by making people, like you. Rest in peace and know that, for as long as we remain here, YOU SHALL, BE FOREVER REMEMBERED!!!

Remembrance
David, today, is Veterans Day and I'm honoring, my two favorite heroes, before the formal ceremonies start. It's one NCO., saluting another and it, is my honor, to do it. Sis made, a beautiful picture, of you and Arthur together, titled 'Brothers Always.' Two heroes, one Army and one, Air Force, having never met on earth, joined together, as brothers for eternity. This war, did leave us a legacy, of something good and decent. Thank you, for helping preserve the freedoms, that The United States, has long enjoyed and God bless you and all, of the other heroes, of all wars, cold and hot. Until later, ~brother to brother~ YOU SHALL, NOT BE FORGOTTEN!!!
