Steve Schultz usmcmidget@peoplepc.com Didn't know Col., Brownlee, but his name was on the list, of 30, names, I was honored to have read at "The Wall," this Veterans Day, in D.C.. I made a promise that night, in front of that Wall of Honor, to find out who these Heros were, that paid the ultimate sacrifice. Being a Viet Vet., myself, I believe, they are in a better place, for they surely spent their time, in hell. I was a member of the First Marine, Air Wing, in Viet Nam and can remember those days, when one of our pilots didn't return, from their mission. May Col., Brownlee and A1C, King, rest in peace. Gerald (Jerry) Baker jerbear@dslextreme.com Stanton, CA., 92680, USA I did not, know Col., Brownlee. However, I will never, forget Christmas Eve, 1968. I worked, in the Aircraft, Records Section, at Takhli Royal, Thai Airbase. When the NCO., from the Command Post, came in and asked, for the records, jacket, of an F105. At first I was shocked, it was Christmas Eve. and we had lost one, of ours. I didn't know, who, but I knew, that a Brave Warrior, had been lost. After my shock, a great sadness, came over me. It returns, evry year, at the same time. Col., Brownlee, Sir. Rest in Peace Brave Warrior, Rest in Peace. Tuesday, April 25, 2006 |
