my dearest brother
Dear David, I listen everyday, to painful stories, of the horrors, of war. Some, from soldiers, who fought, alongside you, in the jungles of Vietnam, forty, years, ago and others, who have just, returned, from their own, hell, in Iraq. I continue, to hold, these men and women, up, in prayer and remain, hopeful and faithful, that they will, find peace. You continue, to live on, my beloved brother, through my service, to them. Love, Dona

“You are Remembered”
Peace and condolence, to the family and friends. “He which hath no stomach, to this fight, let him depart. But we in it, shall be remembered. We few, we happy few, we band of brothers!! For he today, that sheds his blood with me, shall always be my brother.” Rest in peace brave soldier, you have not been forgotten. (W.Shakespeare) May God Bless you, for your Sacrifice!!!

Fellow Eagle
THE BROTHERHOOD, OF EAGLES, SALUTES YOU. I know the perils, you faced and the strength, you possessed. You stood tall, answered your country's call and gave all, that you had, for your brothers and country. You were part, of the greatest unit, ever and I'm proud, to be of the same Brotherhood, that you served, with honor and courage. You, are not forgotten, nor will you, ever be forgotten, as you, will remain forever, in the memory, of every Screaming Eagle, that has Been, There and Done That. We will all meet again, when all, of the Eagles, are called home. Continue, to stand tall my brother, for you are still, in Eagle Country and now soaring, with the elite. A Fellow Eagle, 2/506th, (Currahee) 101st, Airborne, RVN., (A Shau Valley & DMZ) 68-69.

I knew David a bit in junior high school, when he and Mark Morben came in with a well-earned reputation as one of the best basketball players around. We played each other in intramurals, and he was an excellent player in 7th grade. By the time we got to 9th grade varsity, David seemed to be busy with other things in his life, and I gradually had less and less contact with him as the high school years continued on. I remember hearing that he had been killed around the time the rest of us were graduating from high school. Dave, thanks for your willingness to serve, which was a lot more than many of us were willing to do in those days. Regards to your family.
