When we were kids
Kevin was older than I but he and my uncle Larry Johnson in Ocean Beach, Ca. hung out together, went to Collier Jr High, and swam at the beach. He was a neat kid, deep voice, loved animals. He didn't want to go to Nam, he even considered going to Canada but decided against it after Larry was drafted into the Army. Kevin came to see my Grandmother after boot camp, he had lost weight, gained muscle and was proud of what he accomplished. When we heard he died, my heart broke and he has never far from my mind even now in 2014. We will meet again Kevin, you are not forgotten.

We Remember You
Kevin was best friends with my big brother Terry. He was a big guy, like Hoss Cartwright on BONANZA, and he was always nice to me even though I was the little guy. He had a good sense of humor and one time he rolled up the electric window in the car on my brothers arm and we sat in the car and laughed as Terry struggled to get loose. Kevin was a motherless child, spent a lot of time at our house because he had a rocky home life, alcoholic Irish father who beat him. He showed up many times at our house with his nose broken and bloodied up. Mom would clean him up, tend to him the best she could. Here's some irony: Kevin's dad used the money from the Marine Corps after his son's death to buy a car. He was killed a few days later in the car when it rolled over in a freak accident. G-d bless you, Kevin. I will always remember you with love. -Randy

Fellow Marine
Well done Marine, rest in peace
The time, you won your town, the race, We chaired you, through the market-place, Man and boy, stood cheering by, And home, we brought you shoulder-high. To-day, the road all runners come, Shoulder-high we bring you, home, And set you, at your threshold down Townsman, of a stiller, town. Smart lad, to slip betimes away, From fields, where glory does not stay. And early though, the laurel grows, It withers quicker, than the rose. Eyes, the shady night has shut, Cannot see the record cut. And silence, sounds, no worse than cheers, After earth has, stopped the ears: Now you, will not swell, the rout Of lads, that wore their honours out, Runners, whom renown outran And the name, died, before the man. So set, before it’s echoes fade, The fleet foot, on the sill of shade. And hold, to the low lintel up, The still-defended, challenge-cup. And round, that early-laurelled, head, Will flock, to gaze, the strengthless dead. And find unwithered, on it’s curls, The garland briefer, than a girl’s. A.E. Housman, "Don't be afraid, I've redeemed you. I've called your name. You're mine.

“You are Remembered”
Peace and condolence, to the family and friends. “He which hath no stomach, to this fight, let him depart. But we in it, shall be remembered. We few, we happy few, we band of brothers!! For he today, that sheds his blood with me, shall always be my brother.” Rest in peace brave soldier, you have not been forgotten. (W.Shakespeare) May God Bless you, for your Sacrifice!!!
