High School Acquaintance
I knew Tony for three years at Trenton Catholic High School. When he was running for president of our junior class, I made up his campaign posters. When Trenton Catholic closed down, he went on to be a star football player at Trenton High in his senior year and I went on to Notre Dame High. Four years after graduation, I read in the Trenton Times about his death in Vietnam. I always remembered him from those good TC days. As a Vietnam veteran, I felt obligated to visit the Wall. I have been there twice, including April 11, 2010. Both times I looked up Tony's name. I also saw his memorial at the Mercer County Vietnam Veterans Memorial. I photographed his name on the Wall and his memorial at Mercer County Park as a tribute to him and to keep alive his memory.

I met Tony at Wake Forest when we both entered as freshmen, fall of '63. We were pledges for the same fraternity, but became really good pals through our love of shooting pool. We went downtown to Winston-Salem numerous times to shoot pool and drink a few beers. I was off the coast of North Viet Nam, via courtesy of the US Navy, on board the USS Intrepid CVA-11, Yankee Station on my second tour when family mailed with the article in the Trenton Times of his untimely death. His smile, his passion, his humor has always reminded me of what we offered our country with Tony giving all. I am not sure what made me find this site and present these thoughts and feelings on this date June 28, 2009.

Always remembered.
I played high school football with Tony. I lost touch with him after I graduated high school in 1958. I am a Vietnam vet and didn't know he was K.I.A. until I visited the Mercer County Vietnam Veteran's Memorial and saw his name on a headstone. To his family and friends, I express my sorrow at your loss. When I think of Trenton Catholic (Boys High School), I always think of Tony and our days on the gridiron. I miss you, but will never forget you and the supreme sacrifice you made. Dennis
