Ray  James FogLift@ymail.com Citizen Poem Gone? Where did you go? We had been talking about living
outdoors
in the mountains.
I told you of nephews catching rainbowtrout with their hands, in 1975 in Shallow Pools of Glacier National Park
and you nodded and then you were gone.
Where did you go? We were walking the redstone canyons of Sedona 1992, wondering about bears.
I heard a helicopter
and you said, ''This isn't Nam, brother we're home...'' When i looked, you were gone.
Why? Why didn't we skip the explosions of Binh Duong? Why did Death find us that day and that place? In the south of Viet Nam they still say, those who remember, those who can speak, ''They were here...'' And, ''We remember...''
Gone? There is never a going that rowing, in mem'ry won't take us.... I, too, am engraved on TheWall-USA.com and i, too, am not gone Oct 24, 2011 |
