Wished I'd known You
Eddie came from a large family - there were 13 kid, including himself. I have heard so many funny stories about how he managed to aquire a goat or some sort of animal and keep it hidden in his brothers basement. I also heard that he was a talented artist. What sticks out in my mind was as the family talked about all the people who showeed up to pay their respects and it was found out about how many people Eddie helped in the neighborhood. He truly had an honorable soul. I wish I had known him. He is with his Mama. Daddy, brother, and 2 sisters now. Sure wish I could hear what they are talking about. Thank you, for fighting for our Freedom, Eddie.

Forever Loved
Eddie's last letters were from a young man who was looking forward to being back with his family and friends. He was a wonderful brother to his twelve siblings. It was amazing how he managed to get along so well with all of us. We loved him dearly, and miss him to this day. Can't wait to see him again in the new heaven and the new earth.

If Only
Eddie Dean was my grandmothers first cousin. I heard a lot of stories growing up over the years and was always proud to have a family member in the service. Knowing that he made the ultimate sacrifice for our country and future generations, me included really makes me proud and very honored to call him family. Thank you for sharing the story about him in school. It is good to know that he was a strong man even in school. I did not have the chance to meet him as I am only 28 years old but none the less still very proud of my cousin and pray that he is resting in peace. Thank You Eddie!

Semper Fi
In the sixth grade, our teacher blacked out while reading the morning devotional. She fell sideways off her chair, her head hit the chalk rail, and she hit the floor motionless. A classroom of some 30 kids, boys and girls, screamed in unison, jumped up from their desks, and ran from the room in panic. Not Eddie Hamm. He was one of four or five boys who kept their heads and never left the room and the fallen teacher. He was already showing signs that he was "Semper Fi." You were a great kid, Eddie!
