Just like Pres., Harding
John- You were one, of the first guys, I got to know, in Nam. Lima, Co., 3rd, Battalion, 26th, Marines. I remember, when we were, filling, sand bags and you introduced yourself, as John Harding and I said, 'Just like President, Harding' and you said yep, but no relation. You were the Pres., to me after that. I was with you, on Operation, Meade River, 40, years ago, today, when we were, ambushed and you went down. I wish, I could have done more, for you. Thank you, for your ultimate scrafice. I'll always remember, you and the other guys, that fell, that terrible day.

“You are Remembered”
Peace and condolence, to the family and friends. “He which hath no stomach, to this fight, let him depart. But we in it, shall be remembered. We few, we happy few, we band of brothers!! For he today, that sheds his blood with me, shall always be my brother.” Rest in peace brave soldier, you have not been forgotten. (W.Shakespeare) May God Bless you, for your Sacrifice!!!

Well done Marine, rest in peace
The time, you won your town, the race, We chaired you, through the market-place, Man and boy, stood cheering by, And home, we brought you shoulder-high. To-day, the road all runners come, Shoulder-high we bring you home, And set you, at your threshold down, Townsman, of a stiller town. Smart lad, to slip betimes away, From fields, where glory does not stay. And early though, the laurel grows, It withers quicker, than the rose. Eyes, the shady night has shut, Cannot see the record cut. And silence, sounds, no worse than cheers, After earth has, stopped the ears: Now you, will not swell, the rout Of lads, that wore their honours out, Runners, whom renown outran And the name, died, before the man. So set, before it’s echoes fade, The fleet foot, on the sill of shade. And hold, to the low lintel up, The still-defended, challenge-cup. And round, that early-laurelled, head, Will flock, to gaze, the strengthless dead. And find unwithered, on it’s curls, The garland briefer, than a girl’s. A.E. Housman, "Don't be afraid, I've redeemed you. I've called your name. You're mine.

" Served with the best and gave the most " only we understand
John went off to serve his country, as we all did, thinking it was right. It was our duty and an honor to serve. We were raised in a town of 3500 counting the farms and maybe some ducks and cows. It was a very solem December day when word got back of your being struck down by enemy fire. Christmas and the church services were dedicated in your honor. New Years was not much better, but we knew you were not ashamed that you did your part and we were proud and selfish because of our loss of you. I went later and found out what it was all about and it must be lived to know. John thank you. You are in many of our thoughts often and for that you still live on. I will say it againg and again WELCOME HOME ! THANK YOU ! Please help guide those off to war today with your experience. Well see you soon by your time. Larry

O God, by whose mercy, the faithful departed find rest, look kindly on your departed, veterans, who gave, their lives in the service, of their country. Grant that through the passion, death and resurrection of your Son, they may share, in the joy, of your heavenly, kingdom and rejoice, in you, with your saints, forever. We ask, this through Christ, our Lord.
