I was shocked and saddened by his death when I found out in DaNang while reading The Stars and Stripes newspaper. I heard from a fellow Marine, Eddie Neas that Leatherneck magazine had a story wherein another Marine who knew the Gunner mentioned how he couldn't believe that he was dead. I second that emotion. Oorah and Semper Fi to you Gunner Holycross. We who served under you will never forget you. We salute you and your surviving loved one.
