I remember Jim from McGlew Park and his basketball prowess. He was one of the older guys at 'The Pit' when I was growing up. He will not be forgotten.

“You are Remembered”
Peace and condolence, to the family and friends. "He which hath no stomach to this fight let him depart. But we in it shall be remembered. We few, we happy few, we band of brothers!! For he today, that sheds his blood with me, shall always be my brother”. Rest in peace brave soldier, you have not been forgotten. (W.Shakespeare) May God Bless You for your Sacrifice!!!

I was looking something up re: the Vietnam Memorial and eventually linked to this page. I knew Jim's brother (via sports in Salem). I just wanted to comment about this fallen hero before closing my internet session. I am in appreciation for the sacrifice this soldier made for his country.

This soldier died on Feb. 28, 66 and I was born on April 23, 66. I know of him through his brother, whom I married in 1991. James is forever young in the photo on our wall - a handsome, strong Marine. I wonder what the circumstances of his death were and if someone was with him when he died. I wonder what kind of man he could have been. Maybe a fellow Marine will read this and be able to answer my questions. Part of me feels I do not deserve to be making comments here but I think of James often. Please understand I appreciate the sacrifices made by everyone listed on The Wall. I do not believe they died for nothing.
