Fellow Marine Well done Marine rest in peace THE TIME you won your town the race We chaired you through the market-place Man and boy stood cheering by, And home we brought you shoulder-high. To-day, the road all runners come, Shoulder-high we bring you home, And set you at your threshold down, Townsman of a stiller town. Smart lad, to slip betimes away From fields where glory does not stay And early though the laurel grows It withers quicker than the rose. Eyes the shady night has shut Cannot see the record cut, And silence sounds no worse than cheers After earth has stopped the ears: Now you will not swell the rout Of lads that wore their honours out, Runners whom renown outran And the name died before the man. So set, before its echoes fade, The fleet foot on the sill of shade, And hold to the low lintel up The still-defended challenge-cup. And round that early-laurelled head Will flock to gaze the strengthless dead, And find unwithered on its curls The garland briefer than a girl’s. A.E. Housman, "Don't be afraid, I've redeemed you. I've called your name. You're mine. Isaiah 43:1 (REN) Semper Fi

Robert Joseph Rmagicboy3@cs.com a fellow veteran of war (Korea) 8880sw 27th Avenue #B-33 Ocala Fl 34476 USA A salute in honor of an American war hero. The United States Marine Corps has many heroes.Cpl. Ferrell Hummingbird has been added to that distinguished roster. When I read the names upon The Wall, I could not move past this Marines name. I instantly recalled the names of native Americans I served with. Running Hawk, Quickbear, Frank Wilson. Good soldiers, one and all. Thank you brave warrior for your service to your native land. I will carry your name within my heart forever. Rest in honored glory, Cpl.Ferrell Hummingbird, USMC. Robert E. Joseph, Veteran, U.S. Army. May 14, 2007 |

Manuel Pino Jr mpjr54@msn.com Fellow Vietnam Vet NATIVE AMERICAN PRAYER It is said a man hasn't died as long as he is remembered. This prayer is a way for families, friends and fellow veterans to remember our fallen brothers and sisters. Do not stand at my grave and weep I am not there, I do not sleep. I am a thousand winds that blow, I am the diamond glints on snow. I am the sunlight on ripened grain, I am the gentle autumn rain. When you awaken in the morning hush, I am the swift, uplifting rush of quiet birds in circled flight, I am the stars that shine at night. Do not stand at my grave and cry, I am not there, I did not die Sunday, May 01, 2005 |
