I remember the day you gave your life for your country ,as it was a very sad ending for such a gentle happy caring person that you were. I was with you that day, and will never forget you and that friendly smile you always had. Your brother in the Nam ,Dan. You are a true Hero.

A True Hero. A Real Man.
I always admired you in high school because you were a straight 'A' student. You even almost had Ernie Gates giving you 'A'. However,I never remotely expected that you are among the finest of men I have ever known. As an 'A' student with a rich psychiatrist dad, you could have easily gone to college as an S2 deferment student. Instead, you fought in Vietnam and died for us all. I will always love you and God loves you so much.

NOW SLEEP Peace has come. Now you can truly sleep,my son. The muddy field where you were laid Flag-draped, will now be green. Redbud and cherry blossoms can be seen Soon in bloom above your head. Arlington's Eternal Flame Flickers across granite rows To illuminate your name And then beneath it (with lightning's calm) Strikes in black the word VIETNAM On your own stone. Peace has come. Your medals may turn green In time, like your beret But forever there are those who'll say, "I live because he cared he came!"

You were always able to beat me in wrestling, a tough bright young man. Ill never know why you chose the course you did and joined the Army. From a veteran to a Hero "farewell my friend may God grant you peace and eternal rest" till we meet again in a far better place. Mike
