jim  colyer Shared hooch room at udorn 229 maclane St Palo Alto CA 94306 US ??? http://??? Shared a hooch room for a very short time. His and Pat Woods deaths were like a 'cold lamer' if you know what I mean. A real downer for a
H3 driver who had arrived from Da Nang recently, got thru the rest of my tour, went home in11/67 and have not gone back. Retired as an O5 in
1977. Been busy ever since.

Kathy Hansen katelynn@kittycat.net A Thankful American NC I was part of a motorcycle group that "escorted" the traveling Wall of Healing to a dedication site in NC. In sharing this experience with my boss, he told me of Col. Kibbey's sacrifice and that he knew his son in High School. His story touched me so deeply, as I am a Navy Veteran myself who lost her Marine husband in a helicopter crash. Finding Col. Kibbey on the wall tonight once again reminded me of how thankful I am for each person who has "no greater love than he who has layed down his life for a friend". Thank you Colonel Kibbey for believing in America! Sep 5, 2007 |

Richard Kibbey Jr Kibbo@ix.netcom.com Son 2701 Williamsburg St #404 Alexandria, VA 22314 USA
This is a picture of my dad when he was at his first duty station. He was a Lt at Lowry AFB, Colorado. His name is Richard Abbott Kibbey Sr. Hes on the wall at 14E. Shot down 6 Feb 67 on his first mission flying an HH3E Jolly Green Giant rescue chopper. They just picked up a downed pilot and were leaving the area when they were hit with AA. The pararesueman, Duane Hackney was rescued shortly after winning the AF Cross for his efforts and eventually became a Chief Master Seargent in the Security Police. He retired from a squadron which I commanded. Three others and my dad where MIA from that flight. Lucius Heiskell, Donald Hall, and the other pilot were listed as missing in action and still are (I can't remember the pilots name, I'll send it later). He left behind my mom, me 45, brothers David 37 and John 32 and sister 44. Mom died eleven years later of a broken heart. She never remarried and only found contentment the last year of her life when the AF had a final determination board to settle life insurance and give finality that she really needed. She didn't want to let go, but had given up all hope. We miss them both and remember them with fondness and much love. They were perfect parents like June and Ward Clever. Thanx Lt Col Richard A. Kibbey Jr, USAF Tuesday, January 26, 1999 |
