Sherrill  Boan 1sherrill@att.net Friend/Mentor Lugoff SC 29078 USA Good Solid Marine Grunt I remember Herman well. He was my first mentor/friend when I arrived in country in Jun 1967. He sort of took me under his wings. After about 4 mounts I was tranferred to the 81mm Motor Plt. We keep intouch until he was KIA on hill 700. I last spoke to him the day before the 6th. The corpman for his squad or plt (whom i knew)informed me after G/2/26 returned to hill 558 that afternoon.I have often wondered why I was spared.

Joseph Olszewski JOlszewski@Shaklee.com Platoon Commander 1445 Arbor Lane Alamo,Ca 94507 USA One Squad Leader I was the Platoon Commander of the Third PLatoon, Golf, 2/26 from September, 1967 until February, 1968. Corporal Lohman was one of my Squad Leaders. He was tough, experienced and loved being in combat. He was on his second tour as during the Vietnam years a Marine could receive a bonus by extending his first thirteen month tour. Corporal Lohman did this and was in Vietnam for over eighteen consecutive months before he became a casualty. He never complained. Corporal Lohman and many of his Golf Company comrades was KIA on April 6th, 1968 on Hill 700 just outside of the main Khe Sanh combat base. I think of them everyday and pray for them every Sunday. I would appreciate hearing from any of Corporal Lohman's family or friends or from anyone who served with Golf, 2/26 during 1967 and 1968. Thursday, December 16, 1999
