Eileen  carter janes ejtigger@comcast.net pow braclet wearer denver co 80016 usa I wondered for many years what had happened to Glenn Belcher. I have his POW braclet on my wrist as I type this note. I saved it for many years in my jewelry box. I am grateful for the internet to be able to find out where he rest in peace now. I grew up in Fl. and got this braclet in school. It was the thing to do, wearing one of these braclets. I am sorry to see he died at such a young age. Oct 9, 2011

ROBERT MILLER RMILLER@NPGCABLE.COM P.O., BOX, 2742, LAKE HAVASU, AZ., 86405, USA FELLOW, USAF., VETERAN, DIFFERENT WAR I GREW UP, IN THE 60s & 70s AND RECIEVED GLENNS BRACELET, FROM A HIGH SCHOOL, FRIEND. I ENLISTED, IN THE AIR FORCE, IN 1977 AND AM, A GULF, WAR VETERAN. FOR MANY YEARS, I WAS COMPELLED, TO FIND OUT INFORMATION, ABOUT GLENN. ABOUT 6, YEARS AGO, THE TRAVELING WALL WAS, IN LAUGHLIN, NEVADA AND I KNEW, I HAD TO GO, SEE IT. ALTHOUGH, THE TRAVELING WALL IS SMALLER, IT STILL STANDS OUT WITH GREATNESS, IT BRINGS OUT, VERY REAL FEELINGS AND AFTER RESEARCHING THE FILES, I FOUND THE PANEL, I WAS LOOKING FOR. WITH GLENNS BRACELET IN HAND, I APPROACHED THE WALL, FOUND HIS NAME, I WAS ABLE TO TAKE A RUBBING OFF, OF THE WALL AND RETURNED, TO THE FILES SECTION, WHICH GAVE ME A COPY OF GLENNS BIOGRAPHY WHICH I STILL HAVE. TODAY IS VETERANS DAY AND WHILE SEARCHING THE WEB FOUND THIS SITE AND WAS GLAD TO FIND HIS REAL BIO BY HIS NEPHEW WHICH I PRINTED AND WILL KEEP WITH THE OTHER ONE FROM THE WALL. EVERY MEMORIAL DAY AND VETERANS DAY I HOLD THE BRACELET AND HIS BIO AND THINK OF THE MANY WHO GAVE THE ULTIMATE SACRIFICE SO WE MAY LIVE IN FREEDOM. GOD BLESS GLENN AND HIS FAMILY AND ALL OF OUR VETERANS. GOD BLESS AMERICA Nov 11, 2007
Sandra Sizemore lszmore@bellsouth.net I wore, his POW bracelet 3305, Vista Circle, Macon, GA., 31204, USA I too, wore Captain, Belcher's, POW., bracelet, when I was, in college. Twenty years later, I sent a letter to Washington, to have it forwarded, to someone in his family. I received a letter back, from his mother shortly thereafter. I checked this site, because my daughter teaches, 8th, grade, American history and was teaching, about the Vietnam War. I feel, such a sense of relief, knowing, that he has come, home and is at rest, in Arlington. I will visit, the next time I'am, in Washington. God Bless all, of his family and those, who served with him. Jul 27, 2007

Jeff Hunking jdhunking@msn.com Nephew 719, N., Montgomery Ct., Sioux Falls, SD., 57103, USA Biography, of Glenn, given here, is not accurate. GLENN ARTHUR BELCHER MAJ. - O4 - Air Force - Reserve His tour began, on Dec., 31, 1967. Casualty was, on May 9, 1978, In LZ., LAOS, Hostile, died, while missing, FIXED WING - PILOT, AIR LOSS, CRASH ON LAND, Body was recovered. Panel 33E - Line 6. Should read: His tour began, mid '67. (May, June?) Casualty was, Dec. 31, 1967. listed MIA., Declared KIA., on May 9, 1978, Body was recovered, 1997, laid, to rest, at Arlington, National Cemetary, Dec., 31, 1997. As I watched, the dedication ceremonies, today, for SD's., Vietnam, War Memorial, in Pierre, my thoughts went, to the uncle, I never really knew. Glenns' death, like all others who died, left a hole in the fabric, of our family's life. Glenn, was a husband, a father, a son and a brother. His absence, is still felt. Because Glenn was killed, in Loas and the US., was "officially," not involved, in military operations in Loas, at the time, the Air Force, initially listed him, as MIA.. It was only, through family members, dogged pursuit of fact, aided by the League of Families, that the truth of what had happened, slowly revealed itself. The official end, of Glenn's, military saga, occured, in 1997. Forensic teams, attached, to the US., government, located, Glenn's crash site, in 1996. (he was shot down, while engaging, enemy forces, on the ground.) Shut down, by the monsoon season, in '96, the team returned, in '97 and recovered artifacts and remains. Glenn was, finally laid, to rest, at Arlington, on Dec., 31, 1997, 30, years, to the day, of his death. To all those, who have posted, their kind thoughts, on this forum, "THANK YOU," on behalf, of all Glenn's family. I would encourage anyone, who gets the chance, to visit the memorial, in DC. It's well worth, the effort. Sep 16, 2006

Pamela Matsch matschlevine@att.net I wore a POW bracelet in the 70s with Capt. Glenn Belcher's name on it. I never knew until today what happened to him. I was a little girl when I wore his bracelet and now I am ten years older when he was when he died. On this Memorial Day, I remember him and those who loved him. Monday, May 29, 2006
