John and I served in the 55th TFS, 20th Tactical Fighter Wing in the late sixties. We went to Southeast Asia at the same time and I learned about his loss from a friend. John was a good, solid flying mate and we had a grand time in Europe. I miss him to this day.

“You are Remembered”
Peace and condolence, to the family and friends. "He which hath no stomach to this fight let him depart. But we in it shall be remembered. We few, we happy few, we band of brothers!! For he today, that sheds his blood with me, shall always be my brother”. Rest in peace brave soldier, you have not been forgotten. (W.Shakespeare) May God Bless You for your Sacrifice!!!

I knew John Neill and his family in the early 1960s. I worked in his father's store, and dated John's sister in high school. I recall John as a tall, handsome, athletic, good-humored, and most sensible person. He had a level-headedness and kindness about him that made him an instant friend of anyone he met. He was a hero to many - by his example - long before he became a hero in VietNam. I've heard that any length of a life is the right length, depending on how it's used and lived. By that measure, John lived a full and significant life. But, we still miss him, and anyone who knew him wishes most deeply that the treasure that was John Neill were still sharing his good sense, smile, and good will with us here.
