A hero for Life
I had the honor of knowing Henry when I was just 5 years old. He played football for my dad at HHS and I was the team mascott. Henry always made me feel special and was my first hero. I loved Henry and miss him to this day - I keep an etching in my office so he is never far away.

Henry I miss you still!
Henry was one of my best male friends back in the 60's. To me, Henry was like a Teen psychologist - people just seemed to migrate towards Henry and he asked gave his best advice. I adored Henry and loved talking and laughing with him. When he died - I think apart of all that knew Henry died too. Going to his funeral was the first one I ever attended. Seeing his picture just made my heart cry. I think of Henry so often and other young boys I knew and grew up with. When ever I visited back home in NY I was always so grateful when I would run into Henry's brother. I don't think anyone ever really gets over the loss of someone they care about or loved. All those I knew who died in Nam were vital young men who had the entire world in front of them. They gave their young lives for each of us to retain our freedoms. And yet today a war still rages... the ones on the battle fields and the ones that remain forever etched into our minds. May you forever rest in God's Army Henry! You were loved - you still are!! Henry Bethea, Larry Ozzie Osborne, Bart Creed just to name a few that I knew loved and respected. Rest in Peace! Hebrews 6:11, 19 (KJV) And we desire that every one of you do shew the same diligence to the full assurance of hope unto the end … Which hope we have as an anchor of the soul, both sure and stedfast, and which entereth into that within the veil

Henry and I trained together and eventually shipped off to Vietnam. We became quick friends and spent a good deal of time together. When we arrived in country we were assigned to different companies and, all too soon thereafter, I heard of Henry's death. Plans and promises made to meet when we got back home were obviously not to be. I remember vividly Henry's wonderful sense of humor and his great laugh. All these years later I think of him often.

I made my first trip to Washington, D.C. and went to the Wall. I found you Henry, and remember you dearly. Thank you for your service to our Country and for being a friend. God Bless you Henry, and rest in peace.

Henry, we thank you for your sacrifice for our freedom
One of the best atheletes to graduate from HHHS! Great personality and was liked by everyone. Always kicked my butt when we had to 'wrestle off'...lucky if I lasted 2 mins! I'll always remember Henry, his brother Rayfield and Butch Jones doing their choreography to the song 'Working in a Coal Mine' in the old gym. Thanks for the memories Henry and may God Bless!

You, Are Not Forgotten....
You and Rayfield, were, the best dancers, in the state! When I, felt uncomfortable, about myself and introverted, you taught me, to dance and feel good, about myself. Thank you, for serving our country and other, less fortunate, to live, in freedom, as we do.... You will, always be remembered... See you, in heaven, with Our Lord, Jesus Christ...
