William Peterson mikpete@charter.net He was my pilot in Vietnam 2222 Lake country Dr. Weatherford, TX 76087-8005 USA John you left to soon John was one hell of a pilot we flew many hours. He was my best friend. He was one of the the pilots who flew us off of LZ Brick after a severe mortar attack. Our ship was hit with shrapnel and would barely fly. This Huey had 123 holes in it. One passanger was killed Cpt.Woodhouse. John saved my life that day. Day he died I was supose to be on thet aircraft but stricken with a stomach infection which removed me from flight status. I still grieve. I'm so sad for myself my tears just fall into dust days will dry them and nights will hide our disgust now the sea is bringing time into my heart and I must go for friends always part how I am sad. Archie Anz, Jr. aanzjr@earthlink.net Next door neighbor and good friend San Antonio, TX 78232 U.S.A. I salute you John, but wish I could hug you instead We lived in base housing at Lincoln ARB, Nebraska. John's Dad was a pilot in the 307 BW and I was a pilot in the 98th BW (B-47, SAC). We shared a duplex in base housing. My wife and I felt that John was a part of our family too. He was a handsome young man. The last time I saw John he visited me in the SAC Command Post just before going overseas. He had just won his wings. Our children and John's sisters and brother all were chums. I later flew C-130s in VN, then back to SAC in B-52s. A short time before retiring I was in the Command Post on Guam and that is where I got the message that John had been killed. I will never forget, I am sure we will meet again. Friday, January 28, 2005

Barbara Buttler I was John's youngest sister Salem, OR USA A wonderful big brother So witty, handsome, and our hero. John was very intelligent, handsome, and loving. He took wonderful care of my older sister Peggy, my brother Michael, and me. His parents were very proud of him, too. We all wish you could all have known him as we did. We will see him once again in Heaven. John had a great sense of humor and an infectious smile. People admired and respected him, he was very popular. My other older brother, Michael, named his first son after John. We're very proud of my nephew, too. God bless all those who serve and who have sacrificed to protect our freedoms. We will always owe a debt of gratitude to those who fight to keep us free. Friday, August 27, 2004
