Doug  deWolfe ddewolfe@gte.net Former college fraternity brother. 12946 Royal George Avenue Odessa FL 33556-5709 USA Tribute to Ralph Bisz Dear recipients,
My name is Doug deWolfe, and I was Ralph Bisz’ Chi Phi Fraternity Brother at the University of Florida in the early 1960’s. Let me begin by letting you know that Ralph was an incredibly decent human being, great friend and noble American Hero in every respect. It was a great privilege to have known Ralph. I wish to thank you for your honorable and heart-warming dedication to Ralph and his memory, as I observed in your blogs on this site.
For your information, Ralph’s Chi Phi Fraternity Brothers are conducting a tribute dive in Ralph’s honor and memory to the USS Oriskany, which was decommissioned in 1989 and reefed off Pensacola, Florida on May 16, 2006. We will place items such as photographs, POW/MIA bracelets, wreaths and flags in Ralph’s honor inside the Oriskany during the dive by one of Ralph’s Chi Phi Fraternity Brothers.
If you have a POW/MIA bracelet or other memento that you would like us to place in the Oriskany during our tribute dive, please mail them to me at the following address:
Doug deWolfe

Once again, I thank you for your dedication to Ralph’s memory, and invite you to call, e-mail or write me at the above points-of-contact if you would like to forward a memento or obtain any additional information about our tribute to Ralph.
Very Sincerely,
Doug deWolfe

Bob  Magnuson lovdsun@comcast.net Classmate 20245 Country Club Dr. Estero Fl. 33928 USA Friend Ralph and I were on the safety patrol at Miami Shores Elementry. We also attened Miami Edison together. He was a quiet, very bright guy. I can't imagine that anyone that ever met him couldn't like the guy. Although we were not what you would call good friends I think about him often.I knew he was MIA for a long time and I'm glad his remains were finally returned to his homeland. I lost a lot of friends over there and Skip was one of them. He paid the ultimate price. Rest well now that you are home. Feb 20, 2010 |

I was recently thrilled to learn that Lt. Bisz was brought home and now rests in his homeland! I was also honored to be included in learning more details about him and his return...as well as the touching details of his memorial. But I was also very happy that I was now able to return 'Skip's' bracelet to his family. I've posted a URL with these comments, where you can find more pictures and read more about his personal story, his return home and his memorial. Oct 17, 2008 |

Diane smith dianerae@msn.com cousin 8310, west, lake drive, west, palm beach, fl., 33406, usa Ralph Bisz remains, identified and buried, with full honors, at Arlington, October 6, 2008 Our family, saw your postings, to our cousin, Ralph Campion Bisz, at the Vietnam Wall. We appreciate, your wonderful words, in his memory and want, to update you, on his status. His remains were identified, in April, of this year, using a new and refined mitochondrial, DNA., testing procedure. My brothers and I, are now his only, living relatives. Ralph's mother died, in 1971, of cancer and his father, passed away, in 1990. Sadly, they died, without knowing all the circumstances, of his death. Ralph was killed, when a SAM., missile, hit his A4E, aircraft. His remains were repatriated, to the USA., in early 1990's. We buried him, this Monday, Oct., 6, with full military honors, at Arlington. Our prayers were always, that he would come, home and so we are truly grateful, to the Navy and to our country, for their tireless work and commitment, to identifying and returning, our loved one, to his final resting place. Ralph was fun! He loved, so many things, but above all, he loved flying and was, so very proud, to serve his country, as an A4E, pilot, with the 163, Squadron Saints. We cherish his memory.
