NANCY  WARD NIVEN ncnan54@aol.com Friend Locust NC 28097 USA A FRIEND LOST Howie was a close friend ... for many years. He and my brother, Lance, were almost inseparable. It was so much fun to just hang out with them. I miss them both and wish I could recreate some of those wonderful times.

mike alaimo debbea@execpc.com first cousin Howie was a great ballplayer and all around good guy when I knew him. His Dad and my Dad were brothers and worked together in a small sheet metal shop. He passed on my birthday, May 31. I lost a friend, Bruce Larsen,USMC, also in Quang Tri, September 1968. I was in Saigon at the time. I think about the both of them all the time. Stephen Tobin stevetob@YAHOO.com Fellow Marine 119 South Main St. Acushnet, MA 02743 USA I went through boot camp with Howie, he was a fine young man and a cut above your average kid next door. I didn't serve with him in Vietnam but I'm sure he was well liked by anyone who came to know him. I regard him as a great example of the men the Marine Corps produces, I deeply regret that he was asked to pay a price that was not demanded of all of us. To his family and friends I want you to know he is not forgotten and that I also wish that he had been allowed to serve his country with a long and productive life. Walk with the Lord Howie, and be there when we come home to our Lord and Savior so that once more and for eternity we may enjoy your smile and fellowship, Amen. Monday, July 16, 2001 |
